REBECCA JAMES

Rebecca is the founder of Rebecca James studio, a London based Interior design studio.

She started off as a professional ballerina, before injury cut short her burgeoning career. She then became a fashion model and worked in this industry for 15 years. Her modelling career presented her with the opportunity to travel the world and experience diverse cultures, living in locations such as New York City, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka.

Deep down she felt her calling was in interior and product design, so she quit modelling and studied at Chelsea college of Arts, before opening her Interior design studio on 2006. Her Award winning studio has completed a number of residential and hospitality projects in the UK, US, Africa and Europe and her projects have been featured in various publications globally.

Rebecca’s aesthetic is rooted in a wide range of influences from iconic 20th century designers such as Gio Ponti and Paul Dupre Lafon to Impressionist Art and fashion. She often designs one-off, bespoke pieces to go alongside contemporary and antique pieces on her private projects.

She has recently designed a rug in collaboration with Esti Barnes for Tom Floor rugs.
